I hate/aviod/non celebrate too
Jane, I just spent the last 45 min. reading your blog (found you through Suz) and I feel like we have so much in common! I'm a female adoptee and my "birthmom" or whatever you want to call her has denied contact after a grueling search. Like you, I love my adoptive parents and the search wasn't about replacing them emotionally. I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. I've also said that I wish Suz was my mom so we could be reunited!! I was actually with Suz when she found the info that led her to her daughter. Like you, I hate my birthday as it is the anniversary of my abandonment by an oddly ruthless woman. I wish you peace and profound happiness that becomes greater every day.
